HOLT CP SCHOOL receive £850 donation from the Farndon Soapbox Derby!
Team members of The Farndon Soapbox Derby organisers visited the Holt Community Primary School this week and were delighted to present a cheque for the grand sum of £850 to the schools Wellbeing Ambassadors!
This generous contribution was possible thanks to the efforts of the Farndon Soapbox Derby organising team who are all local volunteers wanting to bring a little joy and happiness to our local communities.
The Wellbeing Ambassadors of the HOLT CP SCHOOL are delighted to receive a cheque for £850 from the Farndon Soapbox Derby!
The Holt Primary School will use the £850 donation to contribute towards purchasing a wooden arbour, cushions, planters, games and teddies for their Outdoor Wellbeing area as well as buying library books to support the pupils emotional wellbeing, hosting a ‘World of Work’ week and enabling the pupils to participate in the AmaSing Aspire Wellbeing project! How wonderful!
Mrs Melanie Sturt, Headteacher said 'We are so appreciative of the generous financial support given to Holt Community Primary School from the Farndon Soapbox Derby. The wellbeing of our pupils is paramount, and this will give us the opportunity to develop our outdoor wellbeing areas with the purchase of a lovely arbour for all the children to use. This year, on Sunday the 17th of September, the Farndon Soapbox Derby is happening once again and has set a target to more than DOUBLE the amount raised last year. The Farndon Soapbox Derby will continue to support the Hospice of the Good Shepherd as well as ensuring that 10% of the total amount raised is put towards continuing to support our own local communities.
Already, over 34 racing kart teams have signed up to support this wonderful fun-packed fundraising event and the organising team are expecting an even bigger, even better extravaganza this year.
