A cheque presentation to THE FARNDON MEMORIAL HALL
On Tuesday 23rd of May, some of the Farndon Soapbox Derby organising team visited The Farndon Memorial Hall to present a cheque for £450. This generous contribution was possible thanks to the efforts of the Farndon Soapbox Derby organising team who are all local volunteers wanting to bring a little joy and support to our local communities.
The Memorial Hall is a fantastic asset to the village of Farndon and will use this generous contribution to help build awareness of its facilities that are available to hire for parties, celebrations, meetings, talks, Pilates, Choir Practice and local community gatherings.
Sue Gauterin, spokesperson for the Memorial Hall said, “The Farndon Memorial Hall would like to offer our sincere thanks for your most generous donation, which will be used to enhance our facilities to benefit the wide range of villagers who use the hall. We will be fully supporting the Farndon Soapbox again on 17th Sept 2023”.
The impressive main hall has a fantastic stage, a sprung wooden floor ideal for dance and exercise classes, a badminton court, snooker room, fully equipped kitchens with disabled access to comfortable furnished lounges.
The Farndon Soapbox Derby will take place once again this year on the 17th of September and has set a target to more than DOUBLE the amount raised last year. The Farndon Soapbox Derby will continue to support the Hospice of the Good Shepherd as well as ensuring that 10% of the total amount raised is put towards continuing to support our local communities.
Already, over 34 racing kart teams have signed up to support this wonderful fun-packed fundraising event and the organising team are expecting an even bigger, even better extravaganza this year.
